Pardon - - Justice?
July 03, 2007
President George Bush
Dear Mr. President,
The arrogance of political authority has once again demonstrated special favors for political operatives while allowing citizens guarding our nation to be ignored.
With the commuting relative to Mr. Libby’s sentence comes considerable disappointment that you did not include our imprisoned border guards in pardon action. The one thing Mr. Libby has in common with border guards Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean is they were all treated as political pawns, sacrificed on the alter of political advantage…
Justice is nearly always included in your speeches Mr. President…how can you pardon “Scooter” Libby and allow the conviction of border guards Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean to stand? What about their families? What about their suffering? Where is justice here Mr. President?
While accomplishing the sacrificial work of the American border guard service, the pair have been betrayed as sacrificial lambs in a United States of America that is getting harder to recognize. Where is justice?
Favoring an illegal alien drug smuggler over our professional American Border Guards flies in the face of the justice you proclaim. Where is this justice?
In the act of incarcerating its own border guards, America seems to have lost not only its way, but also its very soul if we let this border guard conviction injustice stand.
The messages you are sending to America Mr. President is being received as confused, incompetent, detached, out of touch, and simply detrimental to America.
We need a leader Mr. President…….you have given us ample evidence of cronyism…what a sad commentary on the eve of our National Birthday.
