If you are serious that “the war is lost” in Iraq, are not playing politics, then file a motion the first Congressional business day hence, in both Houses of Congress to immediately stop all funding for all military action in Iraq. Only funding to allow retreat and formulate surrender would be necessary.
NOT ONE MORE AMERICAN CASUALTY OR DEATH….NOT ONE…..
You believe “the war is lost”…If you don’t immediately take action to stop the funding that supports the war in Iraq, then you become the worst kind of hypocrites, traitors, and despicable political prostitutes ever to sit in the Congress of the United States…You become willing murderers of American soldiers.
If “the war is lost” why do you want our troops to remain in Iraq being killed by the Islamic barbarians for another year plus…..isn’t that what your withdrawal language in the supplemental funding the President requests is saying? You want to continue Iraqi operations until late 2008, with warriors dying and at the same time publicly state “the war is lost” ?
Are you three politicians assuming responsibility for all future deaths since you view the war being lost? Perhaps you’re playing a 2008 election political game ….aw that couldn’t have anything to do with your actions…even though none of you have ever served a day in military service of the United States, you’re too much of a patriot to be playing with the lives or our warriors, their families, and the security of America.
You can pussy foot around playing political games, but I suspect you don’t have the guts to take the action I call for…no more spin, no more exceptions, no excuses………show what you’re made of, exercise courage, time to walk the walk and file the legislation terminating funding for all United States Iraqi operations now……..NOT ONE MORE DEATH, CASUALTY……..YOU SAY IT’S OVER, THEN TAKE THE ACTION…..be prepared to suffer the consequences when the Islamic butchers come after you….
If you fail to back “the war is lost” position with decisive action, there is only one alternative for each of you…resign from Congress.
If you prove me wrong and de-fund the war in Iraq, I’ll be the first to admit your intentions are genuine, apologize for my characterization of you, and accept the fact that my observations of you are totally mistaken.

I cannot answer for the politicians but I can answer your pretty much copied and pasted letter to me.
Since I am a single older woman, I do not use my real name on public websites for my own protection. However that didn’t stop you from getting in touch me.
I have had alot of respect for you over the years on the internet, but this time you have really gone off the deep end. I have supported you on many a good Veteran’s cause, but I will not support the lies of ANYONE.
I have been protesting this war since Bush decided we needed to go to Iraq which was part of his presidential campaigns. Were all you Veterans sleeping then? I think so. If Mr. Bush has been so serious about actually taking out Tailban, then why have we still not caught the leader????
How many soldiers have to die before Veterans such as yourself get off the Administration’s band wagon and see the truth? Then how much longer will it take before you begin to fight for the truth?
This war in Iraq was always about oil and personal revenge. The havoc and deaths that have since been created since our invasion ARE OUR FAULT. We are using bullets loaded with depleted uranium which will be destroying human lives and all other living things for God only knows how long. How many more innocent lives will that take?
The PRESIDENT lies and such Veterans as yourself bow down and kiss his ass until he is gone instead of standing up and seeking to condemn him for his traitorous acts. However let one politican say something MOST AMERICANS believe in their hearts to be the truth and you want to condemn the man. You claim to be an independent American, well this true independent American finds you to be no more than one more Veteran too afraid to go against the administration. Patriotic blindness will only get all AMERICANS into more trouble and more will die. Our young men and women are not cannon fodder for ANYONE.
You call me a hypocrite. You can call me anything you want. There is the old childhood rhyme that says Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names shall not hurt me.
My name has been on every impeachment/ letter of protest and such. I have written many letters to my 2 Texas republicans senators who take a deaf ear to anything but the slop Bush doles out. If I had the money, I would do more. However I am struggling just to keep a roof over my head. No one gives me ANYTHING. No benefits of any sort. No help. I get up 5 days a week and trudge off to work after taking care of another for 6 years who had cancer. I make maybe $.50 an hour more than the illegals I work side by side with.
I am glad Senator Reid said what he did. NOW LETS GET OUR TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ. BRING THEM HOME QUICKLY AS WELL AS KEEPING THEM SAFE WHILE THEY ARE STILL THERE. America needs to learn we cannot bring peace or democracy to places where peace never existed. Let us take care of our own borders. Let us hang the true criminals in this country starting with the President and working downward.
Surely in this day and age there must be some way that we are not using to better detect for homemade bombs. If not why are we not spending time and money on such ESPECIALLY WITH OUR TROOPS IN IRAQ. Why are Veterans such as yourself not screaming for detection devices??

This is my public apology to Colonel Harry Riley, Retired. I have misinterpreted his comments. He and I have done some corresponding and I realize my brain could use a jump start of something more than a Big Mac.
Demanding of Senator Reid and the Democratic leaders to actually do something besides blow hot air from their mouths and other human orfices is exactly right.
I will support the Colonel on such an endeavor with all the God loving crazy “Irishness” in me.
