American Patriots in the United States Senate…or cowards?

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

The media has been drooling over the recent anti-Bush, anti-troop increase, “non-binding” resolution blather being thrown around in the United States Senate…and many Senators seem favorably inclined (read listing to the left) to accommodate.

The sad aspect of the Senate, as in most politicians, is their ability to say one thing but when decision time comes, they are either absent or side with the majority…the recent example of cowardice by the United States Senate was in the vote to confirm General Petraeus as Commander in Iraq…….

General Petraeus, testifying and being questioned before the Senate Armed Services Committee,  told the Senators what he was going to do,  he couldn’t do it without a troop increase, said cutting and running would lead to disaster, all the things the Senators did not want to hear.  Yet,  the General was confirmed by a 81-0 vote.  I know Senator Johnson was in the hospital, but who the gutless 18 were that could, but did not vote I don’t know. I suspect it was many of those that didn’t have the courage to vote for Petraeus or against him…but many Senators continued to spew their anti-Bush, anti-troop, American is the problem venom, while saying they support America and the troops……….that is pure, unequivocal lies and political cover tactics.

Senator Hagel lashed out at his Senate colleagues stating,  “I think all 100 senators ought to be on the line on this. What do you believe? What are you willing to support? What do you think? Why were you elected?” Mr. Hagel said, his voice booming. “If you wanted a safe job, go sell shoes.”

My fax to Senator Hagel and others was “If you are not a shoe salesman Senator, then introduce a “binding resolution” to cut off the funds for the Iraq war and do it now.

Your rhetoric in the safe confines of the United States Senate mean nothing unless you exercise courage of words and take action.  Either put up or shut up.

If you don’t, you are branded as a hypocrite,  a coward, and worse, a traitor.”

I hasten to add that Hagel’s, Kennedy’s, Warner’s, and others words do mean something…they give aid, comfort, and embolden the Islamic butchers. The enemy views them as weak, America as weak, America as divided, America as toothless…our warriors in harms way are put to disadvantage by the reckless anti-war shrill while these Senators quickly add “I support our troops”…I wonder how many good old gullible Americans will swallow this crap, close their mind, go back to sleep, or at least to a snoozing stupor……

United States Senators who carry out this farcical “non-binding” debate against President Bush’s troop increase are nothing short of traitors, should be tarred and feathered and left in Washington, D.C.

President Bush pleads while Congress sucks their thumbs

A comment on the President’s State of the Union speech last night…

I viewed an average speech, certainly not spectacular nor poor…….a good speech with some hope and one has to admire the President’s courage standing fast in the face of attacks from within and without.

The event was spectacular, however, in one aspect…watching the RINO’s and Democrats “thumb sucking” throughout most of the speech…what a sorry example of maturity, competent leadership, and hope for anything positive coming out of government in the next few years…

Some viewed Senator Webb’s response to the President’s speech favorable…it appeared to me as a cocky, mishmash of ridiculing irrelevant past government actions implying President Bush was responsible for it all. Webb seemed to forget that the Iraq war was sanctioned by the United States Congress which was not all based on the WMD issue…I believe the President has gotten faulty advice and made bad decisions on the conduct of the war in Iraq, but that doesn’t mean we surrender.

The gutless ones in the House and Senate will pout, whine, and go through the motions of a “non-binding resolution” against President Bush’s troop increase with the benefit only to their ego’s, self-serving, pompous character and encouraging the Islamic butchers…

What I don’t get is if these politicians are so convinced that the President’s troop increase is the wrong thing to do, why  don’t they initiate a “binding resolution” to cut off the funds for the war and do it now? Bring the troops home before more are killed, wounded, and maimed when all the Congress wants to do anyway is “cut and run. They best be prepared to fight and die on American soil.

Doesn’t it just make one proud to be an American which such a stellar group of American patriots manning our Congress?

TRICARE Fee Increase

Leaving blood on the battlefield is not enough…DOD wants more.

Mr. David Chu,
Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness
Washington, D.C.

You and others in DOD, the bureaucratic leeches, and anti-America shrill, continue to screw around with TRICARE fee increases which are a  betrayal of American warriors and military retirees…..

Mr. Chu, do you have any idea of the disdain the military community has for you and others that take every opportunity to rob earned military benefits?

It is a sad reality that political appointees will do whatever it takes to secure their position even if it means taking advantage of military retirees, widows, and spouses….even as our warriors are being killed, disabled, families left without a parent, great sacrifice.  You and others have no shame in wanting to secure funds from medical care of these patriots and families, adding to their misery…….

The bull-crap you spew about the world caving in if TRICARE fees are not increased is pure political fantasy.  You know and all military retirees know, the federal government and DOD waste untold billions of dollars each year on pork, earmarks, greed, administrative incompetence…but you want all that paid from the pockets of our warriors…this is despicable at best.

DOD doesn’t have the guts or backbone to go to Congress and sell the message that warriors  who give their lives, are disabled, families decimated, sacrifice untold, deserve the healthcare that America promised them and they earned……..Why not get some courage and ask Congress to increase the DOD budget if you need more funds??

American warriors have lost hope that any civil discussion to bring reality, integrity, and common decency to the power brokers in Washington, D.C., is impossible.

Mr. Chu, you are one of the American warriors worst nightmares…with politicians like you in DOD and the federal government, I can only say, God help us, and have mercy on your soul.

This is a harsh letter but what you and others have been doing over the last few years, particularly when men and women are on the battlefield, is disgraceful………I regret it is necessary to be sent.

A Possible Military Related Cancer

Potential VA Medical Inquiry

The National Instute of Health has not released much information concerning the degreasers and solvents used by many old timers.  Many solvents and degreasers were approved by the United States Government and we used them for years believing the solvent/degreasers were safe to use, particularly in a well ventilated area such as a Power House or Engine Build-up Section.  Today these cleansers are known to contribute to cancer.

Many of these solvents and degreasers were removed from government use in the early 1960’s after several individuals died from using approved solvents in a well ventilated communications cable man hole.

Medical research on solvents/degreasers has been mostly on mice and very little information receives wide publication.  Assisting my brother in establishing a Veterans Affairs claim for mulltiple myeloma cancer which killed him, my family has first hand knowledge concerning this travestry of justice.  After my brothers death the VA approved his wife for DIC.  My brothers VA claim required over five years to resolve.  Hopefully other users of solvents/degreasers will find information in the NIEH reference that will assist them.

For what it is worth, one test on mice found triclo in the fatty tissue, eighteen months into the test.  Triclo like many chemicals transforms itself into another substance and for this instance the substance is a killer form of chloroform.

HISTORY THAT EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD KNOW, ESPECIALLY THE REAL AMERICANS

Historical Significance

Sixty-three years ago, Nazi Germany had overrun almost all of Europe and hammered England to the verge of bankruptcy and defeat, and had sunk more than four hundred British ships in their convoys between England and America for food and war materials. At that time the US was in an isolationist, pacifist mood, and most Americans wanted nothing to do with the European or the Asian war.

Then along came Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and in outrage Congress unanimously declared war on Japan, and the following day on Germany, which had not yet attacked us.  It was a dicey thing.  We had few allies. France was not an ally, as the Vichy government of France quickly aligned itself with its German occupiers.  Germany was certainly not an ally, as Hitler was intent on setting up a Thousand Year Reich in Europe.  Japan was not an ally, as it was well on its way to owning and controlling all of Asia.  Together, Japan and Germany had long-range plans of invading Canada and Mexico, as launching pads to get into the United States over our northern and southern borders, after they finished gaining control of Asia and Europe. America’s only allies then were England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, Australia, and Russia.  That was about it.  All of Europe, from Norway to Italy, except Russia in the East, was already under the Nazi heel.  America was certainly not prepared for war.  America had drastically downgraded most of its military forces after W.W.I and throughout the depression, so that at the outbreak of WW2,  army units were training with broomsticks because they didn’t have guns, and cars with “tank” painted on the doors because they didn’t have real tanks.  In addition, a huge chunk of our navy had just been sunk or damaged at Pearl Harbor.

Britain had already gone bankrupt, saved only by the donation of $600 million in gold bullion in the Bank of England, that was actually the property of Belgium, given by Belgium to England to carry on the war when Belgium was overrun by Hitler (a little known fact).  Actually, Belgium surrendered on one day, because it was unable to oppose the German invasion, and the Germans bombed Brussels into rubble the next day just to prove they could.  Britain had already been holding out for two years in the face of staggering losses and the near decimation of its air force in the Battle of Britain. It was saved from being overrun by Germany only because Hitler made the mistake of thinking the Brits were a relatively minor threat that could be dealt with later, and first turning his attention to Russia, at a time when England was on the verge of collapse, in the late summer of 1940.  Ironically, Russia saved America’s butt by putting up a desperate fight for two years, until the US got geared up to begin hammering away at Germany.  Russia lost something like 24 million people in the sieges of Stalingrad and Moscow alone… 90% of them from cold and starvation, mostly civilians, but also more than a 1,000,000 soldiers.  Had Russia surrendered, Hitler would have been able to focus his entire war effort against the Brits, then America.  And the Nazis could possibly have won the war.

All of this is to illustrate that turning points in history are often dicey things.  And now, we find ourselves at another one of those key moments in history.  There is a very dangerous minority in Islam that either has, or wants and may soon have, the ability to deliver small nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons, almost anywhere in the world.

The Jihads, the militant Muslims, are basically Nazis in Kaffiyahs — they believe that Islam, a radically conservative form of Wahhabi Islam, should own and control the Middle East first, then Europe, then the world.  And that all who do not bow to their will of thinking should be killed, enslaved, or subjugated.  They want to finish the Holocaust, destroy Israel, and purge the world of Jews.  This is their mantra.  There is also a civil war raging in the Middle East for the most part not a hot war, but a war of ideas.  Islam is having its Inquisition and its Reformation, but it is not  known yet which will win — the Inquisitors, or the Reformationists.

If the Inquisition wins, then the Wahhabis, the Jihadis, will control the Middle East, the OPEC oil, and the US, European, and Asian economies.  The techno-industrial economies will be at the mercy of OPEC — not an OPEC dominated by the educated, rational Saudis of today, but an OPEC dominated by the Jihadis.  You want gas in your car?  You want heating oil next winter?  You want the dollar to be worth anything?  You better hope the Jihad, the Muslim Inquisition, loses, and the Islamic Reformation wins.  If the Reformation movement wins, that is, the moderate Muslims who believe that Islam can respect and tolerate other religions, and live in peace with the rest of the world, and move out of the 10th century into the 21st, then the troubles in the Middle East will eventually fade away, and a moderate and prosperous Middle East will emerge.

We have to help the Reformation win, and to do that we have to fight the Inquisition, i.e. the Wahhabi movement, the Jihad, Al Qaeda and the Islamic terrorist movements.  We have to do it somewhere. And we can’t do it everywhere at once.  We have created a focal point for the battle at a time and place of our choosing……..in Iraq. Not in New York, not in London, or Paris or Berlin, but in Iraq, where we are doing two important things.

(1)  We deposed Saddam Hussein.  Whether Saddam Hussein was directly involved in 9/11 or not, it is undisputed that Saddam has been actively supporting the terrorist movement for decades.  Saddam is a terrorist.  Saddam is, or was, a weapon of mass destruction, who is responsible for the deaths of probably more than a million Iraqis and two million Iranians.

(2)  We created a battle, a confrontation, a flash point, with Islamic terrorism in Iraq.  We have focused the battle.  We are killing bad people, and the ones we get there we won’t have to get here.  We also have a good shot at creating a democratic, peaceful Iraq, which will be a catalyst for democratic change in the rest of the Middle East, and an outpost for a stabilizing American military presence in the Middle East for as long as it is needed.

World War II, the war with the German and Japanese Nazis, really began with a “whimper” in 1928.  It did not begin with Pearl Harbor. It began with the Japanese invasion of China.  It was a war for fourteen years before America joined it.  It officially ended in 1945 — a 17 year war — and was followed by another decade of US occupation in Germany and Japan to get those countries reconstructed and running on their own again … a 27 year war.

World War II cost the United States an amount equal to approximately a full year’s GDP — adjusted for inflation, equal to about $12 trillion dollars.  W.W.II cost America more than 400,000 killed in action, and nearly 100,000 still missing in action.  The Iraq war has, so far, cost the US about $160 billion, which is roughly what 9/11 cost New York.  It has also cost about 3,000 American lives, which is roughly the 3,000 lives that the Jihad snuffed on 9/11.  But the cost of not fighting and winning W.W.II would have been unimaginably greater — a world dominated by German and Japanese Nazism.  This is not 60 minute TV shows and 2 hour movies in which everything comes out okay.  The real world is not like that.  It is messy, uncertain, and sometimes bloody and ugly.  Always has been, and probably always will be.  The bottom line is that we will have to deal with Islamic terrorism until we defeat it, whenever that is.  It will not go away if we ignore it. If the US can create a reasonably democratic and stable Iraq, then we have an “England” in the Middle East, a platform, from which we can work to help modernize and moderate the Middle East.  The history of the world is the clash between the forces of relative civility and civilization, and the barbarians clamoring at the gates.  The Iraq war is merely another battle in this ancient and never ending war.  And now, for the first time ever, the barbarians are about to get nuclear weapons.  Unless somebody prevents them.

We have four options:

1.  We can defeat the Jihad now, before it gets nuclear weapons.

2.  We can fight the Jihad later, after it gets nuclear weapons (which may be as early as next year, if Iran’s progress on nuclear weapons is what Iran claims it is)

3.  We can surrender to the Jihad and accept its dominance in the Middle East, now, in Europe in the next few years or decades, and ultimately in America.

4. Or, we can stand down now, and pick up the fight later when the Jihad is more widespread and better armed, perhaps after the Jihad has dominated France and Germany and maybe most of the rest of Europe. It will, of course, be more dangerous, more expensive, and much bloodier.  If you oppose this war, I hope you like the idea that your children, or grandchildren, may live in an Islamic America under the Mullahs and the Sharia, an America that resembles Iran today.
The history of the world is the history of civilizational clashes, cultural clashes.  All wars are about ideas, ideas about what society and civilization should be like, and the most determined always win.  Those who are willing to be the most ruthless always win.  The pacifists always lose, because the anti-pacifists kill them.  Remember, perspective is every thing, and America’s schools teach too little history for perspective to be clear, especially in the young American mind.

The Cold war lasted from about 1947 at least until the Berlin Wall came down in 1989.  Forty-two years.  Europe spent the first half of the 19th century fighting Napoleon, and from 1870 to 1945 fighting Germany

World War II began in 1928, lasted 17 years, plus a ten year occupation, and the US still has troops in Germany and Japan.  World War II resulted in the death of more than 50 million people, maybe more than 100 million people, depending on which estimates you accept.

The US has taken more than 2,000 killed in action in Iraq.  The US took more than 4,000 killed in action on the morning of June 6, 1944, the first day of the Normandy Invasion to rid Europe of Nazi Imperialism.  In W.W.II the US averaged 2,000 KIA a week — for four years.  Most of the individual battles of W.W.II, lost more Americans than the entire Iraq war has done so far.  But the stakes are at least as high … A world dominated by representative governments with civil rights, human rights, and personal freedoms .. or a world dominated by a radical Islamic Wahhabi movement, by the Jihad, under the Mullahs and the Sharia (Islamic law).

It’s difficult to understand why the American left does not grasp this.  They favor human rights, civil rights, liberty and freedom, but evidently not for Iraqis.  “Peace Activists” always seem to demonstrate here in America, where it’s safe.

Why don’t we see Peace Activist demonstrating in Iran, Syria, Iraq, Sudan, North Korea, in the places that really need peace activism the most?  The liberal mentality is supposed to favor human rights, civil rights, democracy, multiculturalism, diversity, etc., but if the Jihad wins, wherever the Jihad wins, it is the end of civil rights, human rights, democracy, multiculturalism, diversity, etc.  Americans who oppose the liberation of Iraq are coming down on the side of their own worst enemy.

American Leaders Are Ignoring The Illegal Alien Crisis - WHY?

Terrorist coming in the back-door

With all the bickering back and forth about Bush and his authority, etc, most of you fail to realize that Mr. George W. Bush has already proven that his interest are more on attacking middle eastern countries than on honestly protecting this great country.

Our southern border is the subject of his total neglect. Most don’t seem to realize it, but we have a national crisis right here at home which Mr. Bush totally ignores.

Since I am neither democrat nor republican, I judge our president only by their actions, or lack thereof. And, I see many faults with this president. His fascination on waging a war half way around the globe, while totally disregarding the war against thousands of illegal immigrants crossing our southern border with total impunity, is beyond belief.

It has been stated that recently, someone (I don’t have the facts about who it was) hired a mariachi band and a circus elephant, and marched, riding upon the elephant’s back, loudly across our southern border just to see how easy it was to enter this country through other than legal channels. He wasn’t stopped by anyone!

My point is that this country is indeed in a fight with terrorist. But while Bush concentrates on a war against terrorist on the other side of the globe, we are left with open borders where a great many of those coming into this country, illegally, are not of Mexican nationality.

Living in Texas, and perhaps seeing more of this illegal immigrant mess than others do, I need to tell you that this country is being quickly overwhelmed, via illegals entering our country from Mexico, and Bush does absolutely nothing about it at all.  With all the powers Mr. Bush has as president, he has failed to use them to protect the borders of this country, no matter how many troops he places in Iraq.

Support for America or Political Posturing?

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

Senator Harry Reid
Senator Dick Durbin
Rep Nancy Pelosi
Rep Steny Hoyer

I am convinced the four of you are vicious, hateful individuals and hell-bent on destroying America.  The Islamic butchers are giddy over your anti-Bush, surrender language.

The President admits mistakes, we’ve all made mistakes, but I believe the four of you, and others, are teetering on grave miscalculations.

Many of us have criticized the President because we believe he has not done enough to win against the terrorists, not because we want to lose. The hateful speech and venom you spew in time of war, while troops fight for their lives and our freedom, indicates you want America to “lose” the war against the Islamic barbarians.  This is treason in my mind.

You can whine, criticize, call names, or whatever against Administration domestic policies but to attack the Commander in Chief’s war policies when all you offer is surrender can only be viewed as  ”anti-American”.  The childish, almost junk yard manner of political attack while America is at war, is aiding the enemy, a threat to our warriors on the battlefield and our nation.

Don’t tell me you are serving the best interests of America when the Islamic butchers gain encouragement, just like the North Vietnamese did from American politicians…the anti-war shrill is “aid and comfort to the enemy”, a bunch of barbaric, mindless, ruthless murderers.

Remember 1979 American hostages in Iran; 1983 American Marines killed in Lebanon barracks;1985 TWA hijacking in Athens; 1985 Achille Lauro - Egypt; 1988 Pan Am 103 Bombing - Lockerbie; 1993 World Trade Center - New York; 1996 Khobar Towers Bombing - Saudi Arabia; 1998 Embassies bombed in Tanzania and Kenya; 2000 attack on USS Cole - Yemen; 9-11-2001 World Trade Center - New York City; all these attacks taking thousands of American lives. The nut-cases and mentality that conducted these attacks are the same murderers we are fighting today in Iraq and other places. What is it about all these attacks you don’t understand?  America is at WAR and you want to surrender.

You can elect a Democratic President in 2008, but for now President Bush is the Commander in Chief.  It appears your quest for power will go to any lengths to gain a political edge, even at the expense of blood and body parts of our troops, or even the survival of America.

You have no plan, just criticism of the other side…….you have no shame.  I was once a Democrat and feel tainted that I was ever associated with such a hate mongering, self-serving group of people…lest you think “here’s another Republican”….I’m no Republican either and will do everything in my power to defeat as many surrender, anti-America, immoral Democrats and Republicans in 2008 as possible…Independent minded Americans will speak in 2008, for now I support whatever it takes to destroy the Islamic threat.

Sleep well……troops are fighting and dying…needlessly because of political power hungry agendas and ignorance of the Islamic terror threat.
