Bits, Pieces, and More On The Graham/McCain Issue

Friends,

Take a look at “Joe American” and what he offers as guidance to McCain and Obama.

It would also seem appropriate that Chuck Baldwin, Constitution Party nominee for president http://www.constitutionparty.com/ and Bob Barr, Libertarian Party http://www.lp.org/ nominee for president also pay attention.

Remember, there are other options beyond Obama and McCain.

Several took issue with me over the “Rev Billy Graham Rebuffed by Senator McCain”. Register and offer comments. Let everyone know how you feel.

As a follow-on, some additional thoughts on the subject of the McCain staff report rebuffing Rev Graham.

There are three stories out there……one, the McCain campaign did reject meeting with Rev Billy Graham as Director of Scheduling Amber Johnson said; and two, now the McCain campaign, as reported on Fox News, say there has been on-going dialogue with the Graham organization to schedule a meeting.

A third and new report http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/graham_mccain_wead/2008/06/09/103116.html?s=al&promo_code=6405-1 which quotes Franklin Graham tends to reflect a less than accurate status to both the original Jacobs request and the McCain organizations contention that active dialogue with Graham contacts in setting up a meeting is on-going.

The initial reports seem to have shades of truth, for sure the rejection by Amber Johnson is correct and documented.

Is it possible the Scheduling Director for McCain’s organization knew nothing about on-going talks with the Graham organization? It would seem she would be in the “first to know” category. If there was active talk don’t you think she would have implied or perhaps explicitly indicated some consideration was already on-going in her reply?

Or, is there double motive here? One, Amber Johnson knew what was going on but was directed to send a message for the ears and eyes of those that want McCain to stay clear of religion and conservatives. Is there any doubt politicians will play both sides…that they have zero integrity? On the other hand, McCain’s campaign also sending a message that McCain is working to meet with Rev Graham…soothing the conservative/Christian right……..

Both sides get some of what they want to hear……..the liberal/left get a note that indicates McCain is cool to Rev Graham and the conservatives/Christian groups get a message he is warm to Rev Graham….and the McCain campaign does what politicians do best…talk out of both sides of their mouth.

Finally, the third report indicates Jacobs was not authorized to approach the McCain organization nor does the McCain organization have any active contact with the Graham Association.

You decide…………
